The highlight project of Qingdao road construction-- Binzhou Road Jiaonan
to Huangdao section is going smooth. 80% of the work has been completed so far
and it is predicted to open this October.
The total Binhai Road reaches more than 100 kilometers and divides into
south and
north 2 sections. From west to east it covers Jiaonan, Huangdao,
Laoshan, Jimo districts and Qingdao urban areas. The south section from Jiaonan
to Huangdao which was started in last May is 9.3 kilometer long, 50 meters wide
and 4 lanes for each direction, it is designed for the driving speed of 100
kilometers an hour. As the construction site is close to the beach, collision
and water erosion may occur from time to time, engineers have applied 3 layers
of foundation stone and concrete to make certain the road is of good quality. In
addition, the use of advanced equipment also helped to assure the quality and
that the completion is on time. Now the 2 kilometer-long road Jiaonan section
has been completed with surface and will be put into use this October. By then,
