The Environment department has installed a monitoring system near an
apartment building at Sichuan Road to track noise sources.
Building 27 on Sichuan Road that is next to ship factorytherefore the noise
from ship making has been a big complaint from the residents in this build
ing.
The Environment department has set up the noise monitoring system near this
building to take care of this problem. The equipment sends data back to
monitoring center every 1 minute, if the noise exceeds the set decibel
continuously for 5 minutes, the monitoring system will send a noise warning to
monitoring center and those responsible will receive messages on their cell
phones. Then prosecutors will be able to take prompt action to stop the noise.
This monitoring system will used in 2 neighborhoods on a trial basis in
Shinan, then slowly spread out in city.
